The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Bauchi State chapter, on Monday, donated 200 pieces of face masks to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state.
Presenting the items, Secretary of SWAN in the state, Mahmoud Yakub, said the face masks were the contribution of the association to the state council of the union to assist in curtailing the spread of COVID 19.
While commending the efforts of journalists in the educating and enlightening the people, he urged them to stay safe while discharging their duties.

According to him, journalists, as front liners in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, need to equip themselves with items such as face masks for protection.
Receiving the items, Chairman, Caretaker Committee, NUJ Bauchi, Mr Nasiru Kobi, lauded the initiative of SWAN as an affiliate of NUJ.
The Chairman advised members of the pen profession to stay safe by taking precautionary measures against contracting COVID – 19.
