The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced that five new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Nigeria, specifically in Lagos, Kwara and Katistina States, bringing the total number to 323 on Sunday.
The NCDC, who disclosed this on its official handle on Twitter, stated that “five new cases of COVID-19 have been reported as follows: two in Lagos, two in Kwara and one in Katsina.
The agency further said:
“As of 09:10 pm on the 12th of April, there are 323 confirmed cases of #COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. 85 have been discharged with 10 deaths.
“There are 19 states with confirmed cases in Nigeria.
“Currently, Lagos has 176 cases, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja – 56, Osun – 20, Edo – 12, Oyo – 11, Ogun – seven, Bauchi – six, Kaduna – six, Akwa Ibom – five, Katsina – five, Delta – three, Enugu – two, Ekiti – two, Rivers – two, Kwara – four, Ondo – two, Benue – one, Niger – one, Anambra – one and Kano – one.”

Meanwhile, five more COVID-19 patients in Lagos State have been discharged from the isolation centres on Sunday, after testing negative to the virus.
The governor of the State, Babjide Sanwo-Olu, who made this disclosure in a tweet on his official Twitter handle, @jidesanwoolu, on Sunday, also stated that the total number of discharged COVID-19 patients are now 55 in Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu tweeted;
“As we commemorate the sacrifice of love this Easter, I bring to you more awesome news from our isolation facilities. Today, five more patients; four females, and one male have been discharged to reunite with their families and society.
“With the newly-discharged patients, we now have a total of 55 people that have been successfully managed for COVID-19 at our isolation facilities and discharged to the community. This news, especially on this important day gives me joy and I am sure it does the same to you too.
“While we look forward to more great news from our effort to contain COVID-19, let us continue to do the right thing. Stay at home, practice social distancing, observe the highest possible personal hygiene and report suspicious cases to the appropriate persons.”
