Dr Muhammad Idrissa, the Emir of Fika and chairman, Yobe Council of Chiefs, has urged people of the State to embark on special prayers to guard against the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Monarch made the call on Friday in Potiskum,through his Special Assistant on Media, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar.
“We are calling on Muslims, Christians and followers of other faith, to resort to special prayers by seeking God’s intervention against the menace of the COVID-19, which has become a global concern.
“It is a threat to our life and economy of the entire world.
“The only way to get out of it is to submit ourselves to God Almighty,” he said.
He also advised people to adhere to hygiene rules as advised by medical personnel, and also report any suspected case to the nearest health facility.
Idrissa, however, lauded the efforts of Yobe government for providing an Isolation and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Specialists’ and Yobe State Teaching Hospital, Damaturu, to treat any suspected patients of Corona Virus disease.
