“While reiterating that Reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) is the gold Standard, noted that it has not validated any Rapid Test Kits (RTKs) for detecting SARS-CoV-2 in Nigeria.
”We urge Medical Laboratory Scientists to remain safe and focused,” the council noted.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), had on Wednesday announced the coming on stream of two new laboratories in the national COVID-19 laboratory network.
The inclusion of the duo brings to 13 the number of laboratories with the capacity to test for COVID-19.
