A Kaduna State High Court on Friday ssued an arrest warrant against the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Muhammed Isah, for contempt of court.
The development was the outcome of a suit between Governor Nasir el-Rufai, and the publishers of Union Newspapers.
El-Rufai had earlier filed a suit against the newspaper on the ground that it made a false publication about his asset declaration.
The warrant, obtained and reported by another online newspaper, News Probe, was issued on Friday by Justice Mairo Mohammed.
The court expressly pointed that the CCB Chairman had failed to honour different court summons.
The court, therefore, directed the police authority to effect the arrest of Isah while it adjourned the matter to February 13.
The Herald made efforts to reach the Special Assistant to the CCB Chairman, Gwimi Peters, on Friday for his reaction but it ended in futility as he neither picked his calls nor replied to text message.
