Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos has granted suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele bail.
The presiding judge ruled on the defendant’s bail application on Tuesday morning.
The judge granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20 million with one surety in like sum.
According to Justice Oweibo, the charges preferred against Emefiele by the Departement of State Services (DSS) are bailable offences.
The Herald earlier reported that the defendant pleaded not guilty to a two-count charge of illegal processions of firearm and ammunition.
Emefiele, 61, arrived in court at 9:20 am for his trial clutching a red Bible.
