A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Martin Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, a controversial social media critic accused of cyberbullying. Otse was released from police custody on Monday after meeting the bail terms, although the specific conditions remain undisclosed.

Otse faced charges related to cyberstalking and was arraigned on May 22 for posting offensive videos on Instagram and making indecent allegations against celebrities Iyabo Ojo and Tonto Dikeh. The charges included posting grossly offensive and indecent content, alleging an indecent relationship between Iyabo Ojo and her daughter, and accusing Tonto Dikeh of being behind the gossip blog Gistlover.

VeryDarkMan denied all charges, and his legal team successfully requested he remain in police custody instead of being remanded in prison. He was transferred to the National Cybercrime Centre.

This development comes after Otse’s initial arrest on March 22, followed by his release on March 31. His lawyer revealed that the arrest was prompted by complaints from Tonto Dikeh, Iyabo Ojo, and Samklef.
