American wholesale corporation, Costco, has denied selling baby oil to rapper and music executive, Sean Combs, aka Diddy. This comes after Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, claimed that the 1,000 bottles of baby oil found in Diddy’s mansion during a raid in March were purchased in bulk from Costco.
Costco has since clarified that none of their U.S. locations carry baby oil. A spokesperson for the company told TMZ, “None of the company’s U.S. locations carry baby oil”.
The controversy surrounding the baby oil stems from Diddy’s arrest on suspicion of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and interstate transportation for prostitution. Federal officers seized supplies, including drugs and over 1,000 bottles of baby oil, allegedly intended for use in orgies known as “freak offs”.
Diddy has denied all charges, entering a not-guilty plea on September 17. However, his bail request was rejected twice.
Netizens have reacted to Costco’s denial, with some expressing surprise that a Fortune 500 company had to step in to set the record straight. Others have questioned Diddy’s lawyer’s claim, with one commenter joking, “Costco sells COFFINS!! but baby oil is where they draw the line?”.
