The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi has said that corps members who choose to be posted to Adamawa, Borno or Yobe states are on their own. Brigadier Olawunmi said those corps members currently serving there are also on their own.
Olawunmi made the disclosure whilst speaking at the annual Management Conference of the NYSC which held recently in Calabar.
He said the insecurity situation in the North East had claimed the lives of NYSC members in the region and made it inadvisable for further corps members to be posted to the region.
Speaking on the Management Conference, he said, “The Conference gives room for expressions of opinion and generation of new ideas with ultimate aim of surmounting whatever challenges that are facing the scheme”
