Coronavirus: Why el-Rufai, Bala Mohammed, Immigration boss deserve praise – Atiku

2 Min Read

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has hailed Governor Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi for disclosing their coronavirus test results.

He equally praised the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mohammed Babandede, who also recently announced that he tested positive.

Recall that Atiku had disclosed that one of his sons tested positive for the virus, an action that attracted commendation from many Nigerians.

The 2019 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hailed the trio for being open about their diagnosis.

According to him, Nigerians can beat the dreaded virus, which the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said has so far infected 111 persons in the country, causing one death.

He said this can be done by being open about the virus, educating the people, isolation and testing.

“I wish to recommend the examples of Governors @SenBalaMohammed, @elrufaiand CG @nigimmigration Babandede MFR for their disclosure. We can beat this pandemic by being open about it, educating our people, isolation and testing. It is not a death sentence, we will all be fine,” Atiku wrote on Twitter.
