Continue your donations towards Mr Ibu’s medical bills – Bukola Saraki tells Nigerians

2 Min Read

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation has urged Nigerians to continue donating towards the medical treatment of veteran actor, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu.

The foundation, founded by former Senate President Bukola Saraki, made the appeal in a Facebook post on Saturday.

Recall that the foundation had said it cleared Mr Ibu’s medical bills and shared a transaction receipt of the bank transfer.

However, fast-rising social media influencer, VeryDarkMan, who visited the actor in the new hospital where he is being treated, dispelled the claim.

According to him, the foundation only cleared Mr Ibu’s medical bills at the first hospital where he was treated.

He explained that the medical bills incurred in the new hospital have not been settled, while there’s a high probability of an expensive treatment abroad that has still not been settled.

In an apparent reaction to the controversy generated, the foundation said, “The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Foundation confirms that after reaching out to Mr. Ibu’s family, we covered his medical expenses at Living Heart Hospital up until this past Wednesday, October 18th, 2023.

“Since then, he still requires a lot of financial assistance to sustain him in the present hospital where he has been admitted. He also requires additional assistance for his travel abroad for further treatment.

“We appeal to Nigerians to be informed of these facts, and ask that they kindly continue their financial contributions to his continued care and recovery.”
