Head coach, Antonio Conte has departed Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent, bringing his 16-month sojourn at the club to a close.
The club confirmed his departure in a statement on Sunday evening.
Conte came down hard on his players last weekend, calling them “selfish”, after they squandered a 3-1 advantage to draw 3-3 against Southampton.
Despite being fourth in the Premier League, the club are out of all cup competitions.
The club said that Conte’s assistant Christian Stellini will be acting head coach for the rest of the season, with Ryan Mason as assistant head coach.
Chairman, Daniel Levy said, “We have 10 Premier League games remaining and we have a fight on our hands for a Champions League place.
“We all need to pull together. Everyone has to step up to ensure the highest possible finish for our club and amazing, loyal supporters.”
