Antonio Conte and Chelsea football club have finally parted ways
The Italian spent 2 years at the London outfit winning the league title in 2016/2017. While he also added an FA cup in 2018, but a breakdown in the relationship between Conte and the hierarchy has caused his exit from the club.
It doesn’t seem that the break will be a clean one though as the Italian will be demanding a £9 million payout and it looks like this would become a long legal battle.
A statement released by the club confirmed the break. The statement read: “Chelsea Football Club and Antonio Conte have parted company,”
“During Antonio’s time at the club, we won our sixth league title and eighth FA Cup. In the title-winning season, the club set a then-record 30 wins in a 38-game Premier League season, as well as a club-record 13 consecutive league victories.
“We wish Antonio (Conte) every success in his future career.”
The man tasked to replace Conte is Maurizio Sarri who was the manager of Napoli.
Chelsea have so far been quiet in the transfer market, but it seems things are about to start moving with Sarri said to be targetting Manchester City target, Jorginho.
Rumors also abound that Brazil and Roma goalkeeper Alisson is in talks with the club and could arrive should Thibaut Courtois leave for Real Madrid.
