The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested and arraigned Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu, former gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state.
Adamu, who is a senior member of the APC, was arraigned based on charges bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence.
The former governorship aspirant was arraigned alongside his company, Solid Unit Nig. Ltd, before Justice Yakubu Dakawak on Thursday, June 9.
Aliyu Bokani Usman who is the prosecutor said Adamu collected N23,431 from one Olajide Olaleye, for the supply of iron ore and zinc. After receiving the money, Adamu was nowhere to be found.
This, he said, contravened section 8 (a) and punishable under section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Related Offences Law of 2006.
Adamu however said he was not guilty of the offence but the prosecutor urged the court to remand him in prison and asked for a trial date.
