Conor McGregor Teaches Five Month Old Son How To Be A Skilled Fighter

2 Min Read

UFC megastar Conor McGregor has revealed he is already teaching his five-month-old son the basics of being a skilled fighter but won’t force him to be one when he grows up.

The Irishman spoke of how he puts his son, Conor Jnr, through little training sessions which will help him to defend himself as he grows up.

The 29-year-old said it would be ‘great’ if his boy grows up to become a fighter, but insisted that he wouldn’t force him into following his father into the world of combat sports.

‘I have a son now,’ McGregor said in a Q&A according to the Irish Mirror. ‘When he grows up I’m going to put him into sport.

‘I’ve already begun training him. He’s already leaps and bounds ahead of schedule. He’s only five months old. He can stand balance on his feet. I have this little method where I have him doing a squat.’

McGregor, the current UFC lightweight champion, shot to superstardom when he crossed codes to go toe-to-toe with one of boxing’s finest-ever fighters in Floyd Mayweather.

Despite losing the bout, it was one of the most lucrative of all time. And McGregor believes his son can go on and do brilliant things, should he decide to fight.

The UFC champion is adamant his son can choose his own path, but will be well equipped should he decide to fight.

‘I think I’m going to raise a special young boy who’s going to go on and achieve great things,’ he added. ‘I’m very excited about that.

‘Like I said I’m going to put him into training, sport, fighting.

‘I’m not going to push him into fighting. If he wants to fight that’s great. If not it’s his own decision but he will be skilled in how to fight.’
