The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national assembly primaries in Kwara Central senatorial district has been enmeshed in controversy after party officials declined to name the winner of the senatorial ticket.
The current holder of the office is Senate President Bukola Saraki, who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP on July 31.
Saraki is presently contesting for the presidential ticket of the party.
According to TheCable, the party’s spokesman, Tunde Ashaolu, said he did not have any information about the aspirants in the Kwara Central senatorial district.
However, he said that “someone” had picked the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms.

TheCable quoted an unnamed PDP member as saying, “You won’t believe that as a delegate, I don’t know those contesting for the ticket of Kwara central. I was only told one person collected the form, who that person is I don’t know, our leaders said he is anonymous.”
When the paper asked Ashaolu for the identity of the winners of the Kwara senatorial tickets, he said, “We have done all our primaries but I can’t give you that information you requested for. The only thing is that all our senatorial primaries have been completed but I can’t give you names of the winners.”
