Although he was expected to hand over today, Lagos State Police Commissioner, Edgal Imohimi remains in charge of the state command.
The outgoing CP had earlier disclosed that he received signal from the Force Headquarters to hand over to Acting Commissioner, Kayode Egbetokun.
Imohimi was said to have been redeployed to the Force Headquarters as the CP Explosive Ordinance Department.
Egbetokun, who had arrived at the State Command headquarters on Tuesday and met Imohimi in a closed-door meeting, however could not receive the mantle of leadership as a call reportedly came in to halt the hand over.
Reports say that the call came from the newly-decorated Inspector General of Police (IGP), Adamu Mohammed, who directed that the hand over be postponed till further notice.
“Gentlemen of the press, are you here for the handing over and taking over? Are you here because you love me or you are eager for me to leave? Well there is a directive that the status quo should remain till further notice,” Imohimi said.
