A 25-year-old conductor, Jimoh Kazeem, who allegedly broke into a woman’s apartment while she was asleep, on Friday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
Kazeem, whose residential address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful entry but he pleaded not guilty.
According to the Prosecutor, Insp. John Christopher, the accused and others at large broke into the room of one Miss Jeyifous Blessings with an intent to steal, on Dec. 30, at 1.30a.m. on Omolegede, Estate, Meiran, Lagos.
“The accused attacked the complainant with a cutlass when she tried to struggle with him.
“The accused was caught on the street by policemen on duty after the complainant raised an alarm,” he said.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr P.E. Nwaka, granted the accused bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Nwaka said the sureties should be gainfully employed with evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The alleged offences violate Sections 307 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 (Revised).
The court adjourned the case until Feb. 5 for mention. (NAN)
