CNN uncovers damning evidence in Lekki shootings, traces bullets to Serbia

2 Min Read

International broadcast media, CNN has uncovered damning evidence about the Lekki toll shootings on October 20, 2020.

Following nationwide protests against systemic police brutality and extra-judicial killings of innocent citizens, Nigerians demanded that a police unit, Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) be disbanded.

However, the protest at Lekki toll gate turned into a bloodbath after Nigerian Army fired live ammunition at unarmed protesters on Tuesday, October 20.

Although the Army denied the report, CNN was able to uncover damning evidence that showed several persons sustained fatal injuries and died from the incident.

The international media traced some of the bullet casings fired at Lekki toll gate to Serbia as country of purchase.

Also, CNN contacted over 100 victims who were present at Lekki toll gate on the fateful night.

They confirmed the Nigerian Army in company of Police Officers fired gunshots at peaceful protesters.

Their confirmation of the incident contradicts report of the Army who dismissed claims of massacre describing it as ‘Fake news’.

The international broadcast media concealed most of their identities for safety reasons.

It would be recalled that popular Nigerian celebrity DJ Switch who captured a live footage of the shootings on Instagram was granted asylum in Canada following claims of life threats.

There has been several contradictory reports as the Nigerian Army who initially denied being at the toll gate, admitted military officers were deployed to restore calm at the request of Babajide Sanwo-olu, Lagos state Governor.

However, Sanwo-olu denied the allegations saying he never invited Nigerian Army to Lagos state.
