The Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC), Prof. Itse Sagay SAN, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to dissolve the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
He said that the call became necessary following shocking revelations of large scale fraud, financial recklessness, and incompetence at the commission.
Sagay spoke Wednesday on a Channels Television programme in reaction to the controversy generated by the revelations.
The law professor said the Kemebradikumo Pondei-led IMC has proved incapable of efficiently running the commission, hence the president should institute a permanent board.

“I will suggest that everybody there should be cleared out so that a permanent board and management can be established in the place that will then be monitored. My view is that everybody should be removed right now,” Sagay said.
He added that the substantive board would be tasked with implementing the forensic audit of the commission’s accounts ordered by the president.
“I do not see why forensic auditing cannot take place when you have a regular board. I don’t see the point in having this temporary arrangement (IMC) which is an anomaly and which has proved to be a disaster,” the PACAC chairman noted.
