CJN Reads Riot Act To Those Disobeying Court Orders, Nigerians  Mock Him

4 Min Read

At the launching of the 9th House of Representatives Legislative Agenda in Abuja, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Ibrahim Mohammed Tanko, issued a warning against disobedience to the orders of courts in Nigeria.

The Chief Justice who issued this warning on friday said that grave consequences will be attached to anyone who flouts court orders.

The top jurist, represented by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, also said;

“I will like to assure you that as you embark on this important voyage of national rebirth and reinvigoration through effective, people-oriented legislation, the judiciary is solidly behind you,” the CJN said at the gathering.

“Since our role is strictly limited to the interpretation of the laws of the land, we will not leave any stone unturned in that respect. You can rest assured that you already have a good and dependable ally in the Nigerian judiciary.

“We will on our part, as usual, vigorously pursue the observance of the rule of law by all citizens. There is no sacred cow anywhere, as no one is above the law, no matter his or her position in the society.

“Justice must be served without fear or favour. Every law of the land must be obeyed. Let me assure everyone present here that the consequences of disobeying lawful court orders will be too grave to bear.

“We all should gird our loins to do our constitutionally assigned duties with due diligence so that Nigeria can be the pride of everyone,” he added.

Recall that the DSS had flouted the court order which granted bail to Omoyele Sowore, publisher Sahara Reporters.

Sowore is not the only who may have been detained continuously regardless of court orders. Others include, Sambo Dasuki, former National Security Adviser (NSA).

However, the public have taken to various social media platforms to condemn the CJN, according to some, he is just a puppet in the hands of the Federal government, doing their bidings.

Hypocrite alert. ..

How many consequence has ur oga in Aso rock faced..

Carry doers…

Gbe enu re soun! Yeye stooge! And what has the CJN done about all the Nigerian and ECOWAS court orders that Buhari have disobeyed and continued to disobey till date?

Can this man tell Nigerians that he does not know that even he himself is a product of abuse of the same rule of law?

As if the technically incompetent CJN have not been in this government while Mr.President and his govt have not only disobeyed our courts, but have also spurned our constitution with utter impunity and bastardized our democratic values/institutions.Useless man.

I just want to ask an innocent question. Please, those that are learned should answer me.

If one or a president of a country disobeys Court order.., what will be the consequence?
