Tragedy occurred on Sunday when a man allegedly stabbed his “lover” to death during an argument which arose between the two after sex.
The suspect (name withheld) who has since gone into hiding, was alleged to have taken the deceased, Tosin Alabi, 24, to a hotel on Ajilosun Road in Ado Ekiti to catch some “fun”.
However things turned sour when the man who happens to be a civil servant in the Ministry of Education in Ekiti State, refused to pay the deceased as earlier agreed.
As expected, this didn’t go down well with Tosin and this led to a fight. Unfortunately, the man who was said to have been slightly drunk, grabbed a bottle, broke it and stabbed her on the neck and buttocks.
It was gathered that some of the hotel workers immediately rushed her to a nearby hospital but surprisingly, no doctor was available to attend to her.
She was later taken to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti where she was confirmed dead.
While speaking to newsmen, a brother of the deceased, Mr. Paul Owolabi, said that the man who took Tosin to the hotel stabbed her to death as a result of a dispute over how much to pay her after having sex with her.
Owolabi accused the police of trying to cover the man who committed the crime but he said that the family would not allow that to happen.
He said, “By now, the police ought to have made some arrests, including the owner of the hotel. The police said the father of Tosin’s boyfriend was arrested but was later released. We don’t know why the police should hurriedly release the man whose son stabbed our sister to death when the killer is still in hiding.
