As Christians all over the world join hands together to celebrate Christmas, Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has urged Lagosians to extend a hand of love to each other and live as one family.
The governor in his Christmas goodwill message said “The season of Christmas is one that exemplifies the virtues of love and peaceful co-existence. We must continue to extend a hand of love and live as one family irrespective of our creed or colour. We must also continue to respect each other’s right to live freely and peacefully.”
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna,the governor emphasised that the security challenges in the country shouldn’t be used to create division amongst ethnic and religious lines.
He said that over the years, Nigerians have always drawn strength from her diversity and everyone must stand together to resist any attempt by any individual or group of persons to exploit such ethnic differences to further their selfish ends.
He urged Lagosians to be security conscious as they move around to celebrate the holidays.
