Italian great Christian Vieri has been rather critical of the way footballers nowadays interact with social media
The Italian striker turned out for Juventus, Parma, Inter and AC Milan in his time in football and he scored a boatload of goals in that time.
Vieri nowadays owns a couple of Restaurants and DJs, he still feels that the current generation of footballers aren’t as hardworking as he was in his time.
“Nowadays you just need a good Instagram to be a striker.” he said
You don’t need to score 30 goals anymore. No need to score every Sunday.

“Before, if you didn’t score then you locked yourself indoors, went back out the following day to review the mistakes you made and try to improve.
“That doesn’t happen anymore. We were sick, all my generation, especially strikers. We were sick for goals.”
When asked about Mario Icardi who has been churning out performances for his old club Inter Milan, he was dismissive and claimed that the precocious forward is nothing like him.
“Icardi? We’re very different. I wanted to start fights with everyone. I scored about 140 goals in Serie A and, more or less, I remember them all, even the chances I missed.”
