Popular American actor, Chris Hemsworth, has announced his plans to suspend his career as a Hollywood actor in a bid to spend adequate time with his wife and kids.
The 35-year-old, who became popular after his leading role in the Marvel sci-fi movie, Thor, made the decision after back to back features in blockbuster movies have kept him away from his fatherly duties for a couple of years.
The decision to leave the acting scene was also as a result of the agreement he reached with his wife, Elsa Pataky when they got married in 2010.
Elsa, who is equally an actress, had agreed to suspend her acting career so that she can have babies and take care of them.
So, Chris would have to suspend his career once the children were grown a little, and take over the childcare duties.
This would then give Elsa the room to resume acting again.
Now, it appears that Chris is living up to his promise, 9 years after the agreement was reached between them.
He explained that he now desires to spend ample time with his three children, India Rose, Tristan, and Sasha, as well as his 43-year-old wife.
Following his decision, Chris told The Daily Telegraph that he would expressly turn down any movie role he is offered in 2019, adding that he would be spending more time in his home in New South Wales, together with his family.
He said, “I just want to be at home now with my kids. They are at a very important age. They are still young and they are aware when I leave more than before.”
Meanwhile, Elsa is yet to announce when or if she would be returning to Hollywood for new movie roles.
