A Lagos-based Not for Profit organization, CBA Foundation has concluded plans to organize a five kilometer long walk tagged Walk4Hope in the Lekki area of Lagos. The charity work is the highlight of activities embarked upon by the organization since the beginning of the year. The charity walk is aimed at raising funds for the protection and support of underprivileged widows and their vulnerable children. In 2015 to date, CBA Foundation has reached out to over 2,000 underprivileged widows and 100 children through Skill Acquisition training, Health Intervention, Business Start-Up, Clothing, Nutrition and tuition fees for the children. Proceeds from the event will go directly to support programs that directly benefit the underprivileged widows and their children.
Chinwe Bode-Akinwande, Executive Director of the Foundation identified the five core areas that will benefit from the proceeds of the event. These include areas on Women Empowerment/Capacity building, Health, Nutrition, Quality basic education and Self-employment scheme.

Every step you take brings us closer to offering hope to underprivileged widows and their children, she says, adding that CBA Foundation is dedicated to promoting the protection of widows primarily and their vulnerable children in Nigeria, to promote immediate and lasting hope, confidence and courage in their lives.
“At CBA Foundation, we believe that nurturing and caring for children are the cornerstones of human progress. CBA Foundation was created with this purpose in mind- to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path”, she says.
Registration for the Walk, will start at 7.00am while the participants, estimated to hit 150 will take off at 7.30am.
