Many football lovers that watched Saturday’s match between Chelsea and Arsenal agree that Chelsea striker, Diego Costa should have seen a red card for his violent conduct during the game.
He managed to escape such a fate however and many blamed referee Mike Dean for appearing to favour Chelsea over Arsenal in his officiating.
Costa was involved in a collision with Arsenal’s defender, Gabriel which saw the defender red-carded, before video replay showed him kicking and slapping Koscielny and also clashing with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
But the 26-year-old Spaniard may not have escaped totally, as the English Football Association has instituted disciplinary proceedings against him.
He has until 6pm on September 22 to explain to the FA why disciplinary action should not be taken against him.
Gabriel also faces disciplinary action, while Santi Cazorla who got a red card for accumulating two yellow cards within the match has been cautioned.
The match ended 2-0 in favour of Chelsea, with Arsenal also losing two players before the final whistle.
