The blues have now taken over the title of “the most hated club in England” from fierce rivals, Manchester United.
According to a survey conducted by the Daily Mirror in England asking about 10,000 fans to rate their most hated team from 1-20 amongst the teams competing in the English Premier League, Chelsea took top spot, toppling Manchester United for the first time in years.
Chelsea topped the table, followed by dethroned champions Manchester United. Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal take up the other 3 slots in the top five.
On the other end of the table Bournemouth are the most loved Premier League team, trumping Leicester City, Burnley, Watford and Southampton in the ‘bottom’ five.
Chelsea are hated mostly by Tottenham fans as Liverpool fans are loathed by Manchester United fans.
The Premier League is set to kick off on the 13th of August 2016.
