Chelsea fell to their eighth defeat of the 2017/2018 season against league leaders, Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday evening.
It was also the fourth defeat in five league games for a Chelsea team missing N’Golo Kante due to injury.
Manager, Antonio Conte had deployed similar tactics as he used against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League, using Eden Hazard as a false nine and defending deep, with a back three turning into a back five more often than expected.
However, this failed to stop a Manchester City side that is expected to grab the title by April.
A goal from Bernardo Silva was all that City needed to grab a winner against a Chelsea side looking unlike the team that won the EPL last season.
For City’s goal, Aguero had regained possession on the edge of the box and found the outstanding David Silva on the left. His cross was turned in by Bernardo Silva at the far post.
