Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich has sacked the team’s manager, Jose Mourinho.
The 52-year-old Portuguese tactician was on his second spell at the club, having left by ‘mutual consent’ in September 2007.
The club won the English Premier League under him last season, finishing eight points clear on the top of the table.
However, the former Real Madrid manager failed to replicate the blistering form of last season, with the club now rooted to 16th spot on the log, with 15 points in 16 games.
There had been rumours over the past weeks that the Chelsea manager would be sacked, but his ninth loss of the season, against now top-placed Leicester City, on Monday, may have contributed to his sack, analysts say.
