It is understood that Turkish Airlines are the front runners to replace Samsung, whose shirt sponsorship contract with Chelsea is due to expire at the end of the season.
They are the fourth biggest airline in Europe and have recently been sponsors for the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United and the Turkey national team.
Samsung have been Chelsea sponsors since 2005 and their contract was renewed in 2013, but with very little publicity.
The deal was worth around £18 million per year, it was reported that the Korean giants stalled until after Chelsea’s Champion’s League victory before finalising the details of the contract.
Chelsea attributed the lack of promotion to the fact that the deal was just an extension rather than a new partnership.
The London club agreed a 10-year kit contract with Adidas worth £300 million last summer, nowhere near Chevrolet’s £50m a season deal with Manchester United.
