Despite using his past job as a stripper as an inspiration for his movie Magic Mike, actor Channing Tatum has revealed there was a dark and seedy side to his former career.
The movie star revealed recently that he did many things while working as a stripper in LA nightclubs in the nineties that he now doesn’t dare to speak of.
”It was one complete year of down-the-rabbit-hole crazy. I am glad I moved on … it definitely has some seedy, darker sides,” he told The Daily Telegraph on the red carpet at the Sydney premiere of his latest flick Magic Mike XXL.
The 35-year-old also admitted he ‘did a lot of bad things for one dollar bills’ while working as an exotic dancer when he was just 19.
It comes after he previously told how he would earn anywhere between $50 to $150 each night.
But Tatum, who is now father to two-year-old daughter Everly with wife Jenna Dewan, added that being a stripper isn’t conducive to being in a relationship.
“Just think about it: you have your wife or your girlfriend and then you go and basically run your junk all over women as a job, that can get confusing,” he told AAP.
But he insisted playing a stripper on screen is far less problematic.
