Channels TV, one of the leading broadcast stations in Nigeria has been heavily criticized by citizens for not reporting #EndSARS protests in their daily news.
On Oct 8, Nigerians came out en masse to protest the brutality of operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on innocent citizens.
The protest was led by popular Artistes, Falz and Runtown. Other celebrities such as Tiwa Savage,Toke Makinwa, Di’ja joined the march which started from Lekki phase one gate all the way to Police Headquarters in Onikan.
However, it came as a rude shock when citizens watched the daily news on the popular TV channel but #EndSARS protest was not covered in the report.
This has earned Channels TV a heavy backlash on the Nigerian social space
@dondekojo
Channels TV failed young people. Imagine several people telling their parents and wards about what happened today and it didn’t even make the night news, makes it look like social media noise.
“Are you sure? It didn’t even make the news “.
@MrOdnz
Notice how Channels TV is behaving as if there is no protest going on at Alausa? Barely any mention of it in their news, no back to back update about it on Twitter. The power of Bourdillon performing magic.
@PoojaMedia
Channels TV avoided the #EndSARSProtest in their 10pm news.
They didn’t even put it on their lead.

@RealDreylo
This End Sars movement hasn’t been televised enough by News channels. It’s almost as if an Oga at the Top is limiting the reach of these protests.
@goddeputy
I swear. We saw NTA this night and Not a single thing was shown! Nothing about the protest
@umogbaiisaiahi
John Momoh the owner and founder of Channels TV is a strong APC member. Only few media houses in Nigeria aren’t bias in their reportage.
@Speak4ThemAll
We must find a way of harvesting the various videos of #SARS brutalities and human rights violation and make them available to international civil society organisations as well as international news media outfits. #EndSarsProtests
