President Bola Tinubu has accused his political rival, Atiku Abubakar of submitting fake certificates to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Herald understands that Tinubu that filed a counter-appeal at the Supreme Court casting doubts on the authenticity of the Atiku’s academic qualifications.
The allegations put forth by President Tinubu claim that Atiku used different names on two key academic certificates.
According to the president’s legal team, Atiku is said to have used the name “Atiku Kojoli” on his primary school certificate and the name “Siddiq Abubakar” on his 1965 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) certificate.
The move is in response to Atiku’s earlier suit at the Supreme Court, where he accused the president of presenting a forged certificate to INEC before the 2023 elections.
