Legendary Canadian R&B singer, Celine Dion on Saturday buried her 59-year-old elder brother, Daniel Dion, who died of cancer, just a day after she buried her late husband of 22 years, Rene Angelil.
Daniel Dion, who had been suffering from brain, tongue and throat cancer, died on January 16, with many members of his family around his bedside.
The family held a visitation on Saturday at Salon Charles Rajotte, a funeral home in Repentigny, just outside Montreal, Canada.
Dion died at the Maison Adhémar-Dion, a palliative care center in Terrebonne Québec, just two days after Angelil, 73, died of laryngeal cancer in Henderson, Nevada, United States.
He is survived by many members of the family, including his 47-year-old younger sister Celine and 88-year-old mother, Therese.
Angelil was given a national burial that spanned Thursday and Friday, and was part funded by the government.
A national burial is the highest that can be given to a dead non-politician, just short of a state burial.
