CCT: Group Condemns Saraki’s ‘Judicial Harassment’

2 Min Read

Youth Stand Up for Nigeria (YSN), a civil society group has accused ‘political dictators’ within the All Progressives Congress of masterminding Senator Bukola Saraki’s trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The National President, Comrade Bulus Matias said the political dictators are aiming to remove the Senate President unlawfully and this would draw the nation backwards.

While addressing a press briefing during the weekend, Matias said “We urged all stakeholders whom are being looked up to as model to set aside emotive appeals, influences of groups in order to stand up for the truth, and view our dear nation above any selfish groups or persons, so as to bring the real change that the people voted for. The fight against Saraki is all about the senate presidency and not because of our dear nation.

“Since fats are sacred and balance of information are the premise upon which a societal growth can be anchored, for all individuals of the Nigerian society, who by extension are product of the same larger society, the only legacy which the same society can present to upcoming generation by ensuring that he who comes to equity must come with clean hands, hence the condemnation in its entirety the judicial harassment of the senate president, with the brute use of state powers at its peak is unwarranted.”

He urged Nigerians not to support any form of political witch-hunt.

CCT had summoned the senate president to answer a 13-count charge of fraudulent acquisition and declaration while in office as the governor of Kwara State between 2003 and 2011.
