CBN, 64 others participate in 28th Enugu International Trade Fair

2 Min Read

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and 64 other exhibitors are currently showcasing their goods and services in stands at the 28th Enugu International Trade Fair.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the exhibitors include corporate bodies, business ventures and sole traders.

The Director-General of Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), Mr Emeka Okereke, disclosed this to NAN on Friday.

He said more exhibitors were being expected, adding that the CBN presence was a big motivator to the fair this year.

“This is the first time the apex bank will be meeting the Nigerian public for 10 days in a single public programme,’’ he noted.

The director-general said that the apex bank would showcase Federal Government financial programmes as well as how Nigerians could access them.

“The CBN coming on board the prestigious Enugu International Trade Fair is a welcome development, given the need for greater awareness on financial literacy and inclusion.

“The apex bank stand will be showcasing some of its products and other Federal Government financial programmes meant for the benefit of Nigerians.

“I know enlightenment on the current Anchor Borrowers Scheme will be one of the focuses of the apex bank,’’ he said.

Okereke urged Nigerians to take the opportunity of the fair to visit the CBN stand and other stands to buy their products or buy into government programmes.

“It is also a veritable opportunity to make inquiries and ask questions if need be,’’ he added.

NAN reports that the 10-day fair will hold between March 31 and April 10.

The theme of the fair is “Promoting Nigeria’s Industrial Sector and SMEs for Inclusive and Robust Economy’’. (NAN)
