Meyitti-Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Plateau State Chapter, yesterday revealed that the embattled Mangu community leader of Mangu Local Government Area, Plateau state Alhaji Sale Abarshir, is one of their members.
Members of the association said that Abarshir was a respected elder in the Mangu Community whose character and actions portray peace and sincerity and stressed that the man was neither a wizard nor a criminal.
It will be recalled that Abarshir was arrested last week Friday by a combined team of Police and Military personnel with five human skulls hidden in the ceiling of his apartment while arms and ammunition were also recovered from the premises.
However, in a statement issued in Jos yesterday, State secretary of MACBAN, Malam Muhammad Nura, alleged that the discovery of the said human skulls in the ceiling of the house of Abarshir by the Special Task Force (STF) was just a set up and conspiracy between the Berom and STF to dent the good image of not only Alhaji Sale, but the entire Fulanis.
The association therefore urged the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), of the Nigeria Police, which had taken over the case from the STF to investigate the case carefully and sincerely.
