Apple’s rumored iWatch will be beneficial to the watch industry, according to the manufacturing experts, Casio.
The Japanese watch giant said that it welcomes competition from tech giants such as Apple and Samsung because it inspires them to make better products.
The recent introduction of the thrilling Apple iWatch into the market anytime soon was responsible for Casio’s confessions.
“Competitiveness pushes design and that’s for the benefit of the consumer. All competition is good and improves products. Better products with better user interfaces or new things and that can help us develop,” said Casio spokesperson.
“We don’t worry about it to be honest. It inspires us to make better products.”
The Casio representative went on to say that the company is looking at ways to make its own watches more “smart phone-friendly” and perhaps more sophisticated than the concept of the iWatch and also considering adding NFC technology and fitness tracking features to its future products.
Apple and Samsung are but two of numerous technology companies thought to be working on smart watches, with Microsoft and Google also expected to throw their hats into the ring in the future.
