Popular US female rapper, Cardi B, recently took to her twitter page to ask fans to pick her Nigerian name for her. The rapper in recent times has indicated her interest to move to Nigeria after the United States military killed a top Iranian general, Quasem Soleimani. She criticized the United State government in a tweet and said in the latter part of the tweet “…I’m filing for my Nigerian Citizenship.”

The tweet brought about numerous reactions from her Nigerian fans as they proceeded to give her Tribal names in anticipation of their aspiring new citizen.
Cardi B came to Nigeria last year December to headline a show, she visited various parts of Lagos and explored the town joyfully. Her joy was seen on her Instagram stories as she kept screaming enthusiastically in all her videos. She also visited Ghana but her experience there was not as pleasant. From her visit, her Nigerian fan base received a jolt and it can be said the love she has for the country and its people is mutual.
In a later tweet, she said “picking my tribe.” Nigerians flooded her mentions to propose the best tribe for her. The responses were hilarious, there were edited pictures of her in various Nigerian attires and one of her daughter, Kulture, which she replied “sooo cute.”
Also, the chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, reacted to her post. She said “@iamcardib. As one in charge of the Diaspora for Ngr, we can’t wait to receive you again. Our doors are open, sister. And you need to talk a walk through the Door of Return in Badagry. It’s an indescribable experience.” Her tweet was rushed by hostile Nigerians telling her to face the current issues in Nigeria and stop lying.
After the whole fiasco of her tribe, she finally asked her twitter followers to convince her husband, offset to move to Nigeria with her.
In a tweet with a picture of him in an edited Agbada, she said “convince him to move with me” Nigerians quickly made him a Yoruba tribesman. In her final tweet concerning her move, she asked her fans to pick between Chioma B or Cadijat.
