American conservative commentator and political activist, Candace Owens has slammed Academy Award-winning actress, Charlize Theron, for changing her son’s gender.
Speaking to Daily Mail, Theron said that her eldest child, Jackson, 7, is now a girl because the child told her at age 3 that she was not a boy.
The 43-year-old actress said, “Yes, I thought she was a boy too until she looked at me when she was three years old and said, ‘I am not a boy!’”
“So there you go! I have two beautiful daughters who, just like any parent, I want to protect and I want to see thrive.
“They were born who they are and exactly where in the world both of them get to find themselves as they grow up, and who they want to be, is not for me to decide.”
Theron adopted Jackson in 2012 and her second daughter, August, in 2015.
However, taking to Twitter, Owens queried why the actress would change her child’s gender just because the child said she wasn’t a boy at age 3.
The talk-show host wrote: “I used to nanny for a toddler who insisted she was mermaid.
“I (the adult) made her get out of the tub anyway.
“She is now a happy, human 12 yr old.”
