Following the recent kidnapping and killing of traditional ruler of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom, HRM Edward Ofulue III and Friday kidnapping of traditional ruler of Olomoro kingdom, HRM Josiah Aghaza I, the Delta State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has warned the perpetrators to desist from the heinous act or face the wrath of the “Soldiers of Christ” in the state.
In a statement signed by the state chairman Reverend Gideon Oyibo and secretary, Reverend (Prof.) Oke Akokotu, the group also called on security agencies to wake up their responsibilities as the frequent kidnapping of the traditional rulers was becoming an embarrassment capable of causing a breakdown of law and order in the state.
Also, the body threatened to mobilise Christian youths against Fulani herdsmen, who are allegedly perpetrating the acts, if the kidnappings do not stop.
While pleading with the abductors of the traditional ruler of Olomoro kingdom to free the monarch, CAN condoled with the family and people of the late monarch of Ubulu-Uku on the murder of the traditional ruler.
