The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has cleared Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi for Nigeria’s game against Lesotho.
The game, billed to be played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium today, is the Eagles’ last Group L match in the 2022 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Iwobi missed Saturday’s game against Benin Republic in Porto Novo after purportedly testing positive to COVID-19, which forced him into isolation.
Officials of the Super Eagles had questioned the result of the test.
In an update earlier today, the team wrote: “Update: @NGSuperEagles forward, @alexiwobi has tested negative after further COVID-19 tests were conducted,”
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) also disclosed in a tweet that the Everton forward has been cleared for today’s game after further tests turned out negative.
