Barcelona’s mercurial midfielder Sergio Busquets has named Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure as the player who shaped his game the most.
Yaya Toure, who switched from Barcelona to The Citizens in 2010, is believed to be one of the best in the world in his position, bagging four-consecutive CAF African Player of the Year awards to confirm it.
In an interview with Daily Sport, Busquets said that players like Patrick Vieira, Xavi and Toure influenced his game, but singled out Toure for having the most influence on his style.
He said: “I used to watch Patrick Vieira, then Xavi and Yaya Touré too. I have to say I learnt a lot from him [Touré]”.
The 27-year-old also threw a jibe at arch-rivals Real Madrid, stating that Los Blancos’ city rivals, Atletico Madrid were more of a threat to Barcelona in the current league season.
