A Lugbe Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Wednesday granted bail to Musa Yahaya,35, and Olasogba Olawale,38, in the sum of N100,000 each for allegedly receiving stolen laptop bag.
Yahaya and Olawale, both businessmen and residents of FHA Lugbe, Abuja, were charged with receiving stolen property in contrary to Section 317 of the Penal Code.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The presiding officer, Mr Garba Ogbede, ordered them to produce a surety each in like sum.
Ogbede said the surety should have a reasonable means of livelihood and must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.
He adjourned the case till April 5 for hearing.
Prosecuting counsel, Miss Vivian Oporomo, told the court that Abdulakez Alabi of Piwoyi Village Lugbe, reported the matter at Lugbe Police Station on March 14.
Oporomo said that Favour Oyiekon broke into the complainant house on the same date and made away with a laptop bag.
She said the laptop bag contains a laptop worth N90,000 and N175,000 cash.
The prosecutor said that Oyiekon was apprehended and confessed that he sold the stolen item to the defendants for N5,000.
Oporomo added that Oyiekon was still undergoing police investigation and would be charged later. (NAN)
