Burna Boy Urges Nigerians to Stop Comparing Him to Fela

Nigerian singer Burna Boy has called on Nigerians to cease comparing him to the late Afrobeat founder and activist, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Burna Boy, often likened to Fela due to his protest music, has faced backlash recently over the detention of fellow artist Speed Darlington, who allegedly defamed him.

In response to these criticisms, Burna Boy made it clear that he is not Fela and that such comparisons should end. “All that Burna Boy and Fela talk needs to die now. I’m not Fela, I’m BIG7,” he wrote on his Instastory. He stressed that while he advocates for positivity, peace, and prosperity, he would rather kill than die for Nigerians.

This statement comes amid ongoing debates about his role in the music industry and his influence, reminiscent of Fela’s activism and legacy.
