Burna Boy In SARS Custody As Police Plan Monday Arraignment

2 Min Read

Popular musician, Burna Boy is presently with operatives of the dreaded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command over his alleged involvement in the robbery of fellow music artiste, Mr. 2Kay.

Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, is being held with other criminal suspects accused of robbery and theft related offences.

This is following his Friday arrest by the command after the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal declared him wanted on November 20.

Three other suspects and Burna Boy’s Road Manager, Joel Kantiok had on October 22 been paraded by the command for disguising as room service and robbing Mr. 2Kay at Eko Hotels and Suites.

They had allegedly made away with phones, golden necklaces, cash and other valuables belonging to Mr. 2kay at gunpoint before tying him up.

The suspects, except Kantiok, have reportedly confessed to carrying out the act under instruction from Burna Boy.

“He is currently in the SARS custody and he is helping the police in the investigation . For now , I can ’ t say categorically what his charges will be but definitely they are related to robbery for which the other suspects were arraigned,” The Punch reported, quoting an unnamed source.

He is expected to be arraigned in court on Monday.
