Having been featured on Mera Na by the Late Sidhu Moose Wala featuring Burna Boy and Steel Banglez, a record which dropped earlier this week, Burna Boy has officially become the first African artist to hit 13million views in a day with the track on YouTube.
The track which is predominantly owned by Indians with it as a post-humous song, dedicated to Sidhu, is an emotional song with intricate lyrics.
This will be the first time Nigerians get to collaborate with Indians on a song and in fact, is a great record in history for the Nigerian music landscape, recognizing that Indians acknowledge afrobeats and are willing to work with our artists.
Already, we have had a collaboration of Bollywood and Nollywood in the movie scene and seeing a new collaboration with Burna Boy at the helm, is indeed a great achievement.
Burna Boy’s collaboration on Mera Na is great, timely and an easy access to a world outside the UK, US and our home continent, Africa.
