The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu on Tuesday while departing from the Rockview Classic Hotel, in Abuja, the venue for a workshop on ‘Anti-corruption, Ethics of the Legal Profession and Justice Sector’ evaded questions regarding the call for probe into the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai in connection with the $1.5 million Dubai properties.
The EFCC boss while leaving the seminar co-organised by the Nigerian Bar Association and the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption had positioned to answer questions from journalists but as soon as the Chief of Army staff was mentioned, he turned around and hopped into his car.
During the seminar, Magu lamented the degree of various corrupt acts in the country including a situation where a civil servant could afford as much as N800 million as legal fee.
He further queried how a civil servant could afford such amount during the event as he decried the high level of corrupt practices in the country amongst various sectors.
