Fortunes were reversed today as bullish sentiments led to the All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange ending the day with a 0.26% (72 points) surge, compared to a 0.89% (272 points) loss yesterday. The week end surge was buoyed by the activities of investors who traded actively.
The local bourse ended the day at 27,631.05 points, while Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N9.5 Trillion.
A total of 2,317 deals were struck today, a reduction from 2,524 deals recorded yesterday, while the total volume of shares traded on the floor today were 112,323,357 and the total value of transactions recorded today was N1.6 Billion.
NESTLE led the gainers chart adding N18 to close at N825 followed by OKOMUOIL and WAPCO which added N2.75 and N1.39 close at N29.65 and N92 respectively; DANGCEM and PZ added N1.05 and N1 to close at N161.05 and N27 respectively.
The losers chart was led by UNILEVER who lost N2.16 to close with a share price of N41.86 followed by GUINNESS and NB who lost N1.78 and N1 to close with share prices of N122.02 and N119 respectively; CAP and BOCGAS lost N0.35 and N0.19 to close with share prices of N37.6 and N3.79 respectively.
The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were GUARANTY with shares valued at N518 Million, ACCESS with shares valued at N55 Million, ETI with shares valued at N156 Million, ZENITHBANK with shares valued at N135 Million and TRANSCORP with shares valued at N11 Million.
There were 21 Gainers led NESTLE by and 21 losers led by UNILEVER.
